OVERVIEW
Troop 966 is a high adventure troop helping Scouts in the South Bay develop into great leaders. We are an active troop with units for girls and boys, with scouts from all over the "south" South Bay. We offer opportunities to hike, camp, climb, backpack, and more all year long.
Our troop has garnered awards for the Golden Spoon, the GLAAC's “Glenn A. and Melina W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award for the Class of 2017, and many more.
OUTINGS
Troop 966 has campouts or hiking activities every month. Past campouts have focused on rock climbing and rappelling, biking, hiking, conservation, and orienteering. Each summer scouts from Troop 966 attend two different week-long summer camps.
MEETINGS
Troop 966 meets Mondays from 7:15-8:45 at the El Retiro Park rec room in Torrance. The first Monday of the month is the PLC (Patrol Leader Committee) planning meeting, the remaining Mondays are general meetings. Visitors are always welcome. Please check our calendar for meetings and events.
